Editor’s Review & Recommendation
DreamHost got its start way back in 1997 and has been on the rise ever since. Their plans cover a wide spectrum and everyone from newbies to corporates should be able to have their needs filled here. Their plans are distinct in the way that cheaper plans aren’t really hobbled by lack of functionality, but those who opt to prioritize budget will simply have to work harder.
As an example of this, their shared hosting plans come in two flavors – Starter and Unlimited. While started plans may have less storage space, it is still a generous amount. Otherwise, features such as free SSL are included in both plans but for those who opt for the more expensive unlimited plans have theirs pre-installed.
Other vital areas such as support, backups, and domain privacy are shared features and can be had across the board. This is an extremely reasonable split of functionality for users and many could benefit from shared plans here if they are just willing to put in that extra effort. It may, however, hamper the efforts of newbies who may not know how. This can be further complicated by a custom control panel.
Thankfully, the knowledge base that DreamHost has is quite extensive and when that fails (or while waiting for customer support to get back to you), there is also a community forum where answers may be found. This extensive ecosystem is quite useful in a pinch, although for unique problems, you may have no choice but to wait.
VPS plans are mainly limited by resources available per plan but that’s quite common. A major drawback on all types of plans is that DreamHost only has US-based servers which isn’t ideal for those seeking region-specific traffic for their sites.

“My clients are happy!”
Well, what can i say, being a web designer, I keep on trying new hosting providers, for my new clients. And so far I have been using DreamHost for only 3 of my clients.
Was a bit hesitant earlier, but fortunately it turned out really well. All the 3 clients were happy with the performance of it, and they could see a spike on the traffic on their business websites.

“Ideal for WordPress hosting”
I am using DreamHost for a quite a sometime. they have an easy control Panel to use for a beginner who just started their own site. It has lots of features to offer.
It’s easy to maintain once you start.
