We’ve had experiences with Ontario-based HostPapa dating back to 2010 and some in between. They offer a solid value-for-money proposition with plans starting from as little as $3.95. In exchange though you get much in the way of resources and lots of freebies which can benefit both new sites and those transferring in.

Editor’s Review & Recommendation
Technically, HostPapa ticks a lot of the right boxes for a wide variety of users. It has a good range of plans suitable for various usage models and they seem to offer more in terms of resources. For example, even their cheapest plans allow you to run two websites and include a free domain name, 100GB of SSD storage, plus unlimited bandwidth.
Their VPS plans also show good depth and breadth in features and variety. Five plans are there for you to choose from – all of them managed. These come with cPanel / WHM included which makes their pricing solid where value is concerned. The one area which shows some limitations is the shortage of developer-friendly tool support on their shared plans.
For Newbies and Individual Bloggers
HostPapa comes with excellent pricing buy-in discounts and has available both website builders and easy software installers. These features make them a good option for newbies and bloggers alike. The number of freebies packaged in makes things much simpler for new site owners as well since everything comes rolled into a single good deal.
