Namecheap Review

Namecheap Review Summary

Namecheap is another long-serving company in the web hosting business and was founded way back in 2000. They are an excellent resource for not just new domain names, but you can also bid for some existing ones as well. The offer a good range of plans at reasonable prices with even managed WordPress hosting plans available for less than $5 per month.

Editor’s Review & Recommendation

Perhaps because of their name, the first encounter many have with Namecheap is more likely to be during a search for a domain name. In this, it has an excellent service with very reasonable prices for domain names. What is great however, is that with the domain name comes free privacy protection which many other companies will charge extra for.

Namecheap has a wide range of plans from shared hosting to managed WordPress, VPS, and even dedicated servers. Their shared plans come at an excellent price point, although there is slight weakness in-depth when it comes to their VPS options.

The initial Q&A; section can clear most of the doubts before making any purchase.

To note is that their shared plans also offer some extras which may interest developers looking for cheap testing grounds. It isn’t common that a shared hosting provider will have environments that support specialized languages like Perl or Python.

For Newbies and Individual Bloggers

Because of the great startup plans and freebies that come with Namecheap hosting, many new users and bloggers may find this a strongly viable option. For less than $2 to kick off with, you get access to a very basic plan plus domain name, privacy protection, and SSL certificate.
