One.com Review

With extremely cheap introduction or ‘starter’ plans, One.com is an excellent launch point for new users to the realm of web hosting. It offers just enough in the way of freebies and resources not to be unreasonable and leaves some room for new users to discover later that price isn’t all they should be looking for.

As an example of this, their most basic plan comes with a generous 50GB of SSD storage space, unlimited emails, as well as free Wildcard SSL. The catch is that you don’t even get access to a basic website builder or any form of extra security like a virus / malware scanner.

Users who hope to build an online store should also note that extra fees will be applicable. Unfortunately, One.com isn’t so transparent about what you get with these extra fees and if not paying them will stop you from installing eCommerce capable plugins for WordPress such as WooCommerce.

There is also little room to grow here despite the decent spread of services that appear to be on offer. Many of the ‘products’ that One.com has on display are slight variations on basic hosting plans. For example, they offer web hosting plans, website builder hosting plans, and WordPress hosting plans.

While it is true that the resources available on these plans may differ, there isn’t an option to move further. This can be seen in the absence of any Cloud or VPS hosting options on One.com.
