HostGator Review Summary
With over 20 years in the industry HostGator has grown from a solo operation to the web hosting powerhouse it is today. There is almost nothing you can’t find here if its related to web hosting. Sadly, the company was sold to Endurance International Group in 2012 and now joins the many who are part of a big conglomerate. They still retain their signature iconic cartoon alligator logo / mascot.

Editor’s Review & Recommendation
HostGator is a name that many will be familiar with not the least because of its cute mascot. It has been around for so long that both positive and negative reviews are like a drop of water rolling down the gator’s back. It also offers a huge variety of plans which makes it suitable for a large target market.
Having over 11 years of experience with this host I find that they have managed to maintain relative stability for much of that time. Speed, while not the fastest in the market can be considered above par. If you combine those factors with the host of features here, HostGator really is an attractive option.
They show great attention to detail, making website builders and comprehensive documentation available to benefit new users, while seasoned website owners get access to seldom-offered developer tools even on shared plans.

“Good! but do not buy its ultimate plan”
Hostgator hosting in good, Its shared hosting plan (Baby Plan) can handle 5 Lakh traffic per month, if yor upgrade it to Business plan the the hosting provider throlled you by server issues, many down time… so that you may upgrade your plan to vps or cloud hosting..
Same in his cloud hosting (baby cloud) plan good but if you upgrade it to Business cloud you face same issues like many down time, server issues…

“Solid Hosting”
Not many know what Hostgator belongs under the same umbrella as Bluehost. I admit that I did not test many other providers, but never actually had to. I use Hostgator for over 7 years now, with no issues. Though customer service sometimes need a bit of explanation to help, they always were there when I needed them.
